Part‑Time Adjunct Adult Education Instructor

About the role

Savannah Technical College is seeking a part‑time adjunct instructor to deliver High School Equivalency (HSE) and GED preparation classes. The position is grant‑funded and may involve teaching at multiple campus locations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver instruction to adult learners and develop course syllabi, goals, and objectives.
• Assess student progress, record learning outcomes, and ensure program certification requirements are met.
• Prepare and maintain required documentation and administrative reports.
• Participate in professional development activities such as workshops, seminars, and conferences.
• Maintain classroom safety and security standards.
• Collaborate with students, staff, and other educators to support student success.
• Manage a flexible teaching schedule, including split‑day shifts across campuses.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a core subject area (Mathematics, Science, English Language Arts, or Social Studies).
• At least one year of full‑time (or equivalent) paid teaching experience.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and maintain an acceptable enrollment level.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
