Parts Specialist

About the role

O'Reilly Auto Parts is hiring a Parts Specialist for its St. Louis store. The role provides retail and installer customers with a high level of service and supports store management with assigned tasks. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Greet retail and walk-in customers promptly and help them select merchandise
• Answer phone calls, look up parts and quote prices, recommend premium and related items, and offer the Low-Price Guarantee
• Assist managers and installer service specialists with professional customers
• Maintain the cash drawer, accept cash and checks, make change and process credit cards
• Handle exchanges and returns, and resolve customer complaints
• Complete the daily image maker, planogram updates, freight receipt, stocking, fronting and facing, and cleaning
• Prepare returns to the distribution center, help with monthly stock adjustments and inventory cycle counts
• Operate the brake lathe and other test equipment after training, and perform in-store services such as installing wipers, testing batteries and scanning trouble codes where permitted by law
• Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle when business needs dictate

Required profile

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences
• Outstanding, friendly and professional customer service, multitasking between phone and in-store customers
• ASE certification and fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired)
• Desired: familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, the Weatherly index system, and automotive sales or service
