Parts Specialist

About the role

O'Reilly Auto Parts is hiring a Parts Specialist for its North Chicago store (Store 05625). The role provides retail and installer customers with a high level of service and supports store management with assigned tasks. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Greet retail and walk-in customers promptly and help them select merchandise
• Answer phone calls, look up parts and quote prices, recommend related items and offer the Low-Price Guarantee
• Assist managers and installer service specialists with professional customers
• Maintain and secure the cash drawer, handle cash and checks, make change and process credit cards
• Process exchanges and returns and resolve customer complaints
• Complete the daily image maker, planogram updates, stocking, cleaning and freight receipt
• Help with returns to the distribution center, monthly stock adjustments and inventory cycle counts
• Operate the brake lathe and other test equipment after training, and perform in-store services such as battery testing and wiper installation where allowed
• Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle when business needs dictate

Required profile

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences
• Outstanding, friendly and professional customer service, multitasking between phone and store
• Completion of assigned company training

Required skills

• Desired: familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, the Weatherly index system and automotive sales or service
• Desired: ASE certification and fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired)
