Part-Time Ticket Seller

About the role

ASM Global, which manages public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for a part-time (as needed) Ticket Seller on its Box Office team at Laborde Earles Coliseum in Alexandria. The ticket seller works under direct supervision, processing single ticket sales, exchanges and tax credits, and acts as a liaison between the facility and its clients.

Key responsibilities

• Process single ticket sales at the box office and help with group sales when requested.
• Answer questions about admission fees, fares, schedules, reservations, coming attractions and ticket policies.
• Exchange tickets and process tax credits for box office patrons.
• Balance transactions for the day, complete reports and open cash, checks, vouchers, coupons and credit cards received during sales.
• Maintain a daily balance sheet of cash received and tickets sold, and a daily audit of all ticketed events.
• Follow facility policies, risk management, safety and emergency procedures, and work to strict deadlines.
• Work long and irregular hours, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to calculate and handle financial transactions quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently, stay flexible and work well under pressure.
• Must be at least 18 years old; one year of cash handling experience is preferred.
• Background check and credit check required.

Required skills

• Operating a computerized ticketing system and standard office equipment.
• Understanding of operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology and event-related services.
