Part-Time Security Officer (Front Desk) - Aerospace & Defense

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a part-time Security Officer with a DoD Secret clearance to work at a front desk in an aerospace and defense location in Salt Lake City, Utah. The officer welcomes visitors, manages access, verifies credentials and provides professional communication for employees and guests, helping deter security-related incidents. The schedule is listed as Saturday 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM and Sunday 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors and contractors at the front desk, following site-specific security procedures and access protocols.
• Manage visitor reception: greet guests, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials and direct visitors according to site policy.
• Monitor access points and keep accurate records of visitors, contractors and deliveries to help prevent unauthorized entry.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms and critical situations, following emergency response procedures.
• Contact Allied Universal leadership and site contacts promptly about security concerns, unusual activity, access issues and visitor matters.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Valid driver's license required only for driving positions.
• Applicants undergo a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law; licensing requirements depend on state and local law.
