Part-Time Surveillance Investigator

About the role

Allied Universal Compliance and Investigation Services is hiring a part-time Surveillance Investigator in Lubbock, Texas. The investigator performs discreet mobile and stationary surveillance of a claimant to confirm their current activities and capabilities, helping to administer an insurance claim. There is no office to report to, and the company provides a credit card to cover fuel and hotel expenses.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent investigations of insurance claims across workers' compensation, general liability, property and casualty, and disability coverage types
• Use surveillance techniques and equipment to monitor subjects covertly
• Document and report observations, activities and relevant information clearly and concisely
• Collaborate with other investigators and law enforcement agencies as needed to gather information and coordinate efforts
• Maintain confidentiality and follow legal and ethical standards in surveillance operations

Required profile

• Valid driver's license with at least one year of driving experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of verifiable work experience, preferably in investigations or other protective services
• Flexibility to work varied and irregular hours, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to work independently and handle stressful situations professionally
• Must complete the company's training/orientation after the offer

Required skills

• Typing reports in Microsoft Word with minimal errors
• Proficiency with laptops, video cameras and cell phones
• Ability to multitask and stay focused in a dynamic environment

Preferred qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher, preferably in Criminal Justice
• Security, loss prevention, military, law enforcement or prior insurance investigation experience
