Part-Time Security Officer - Arrival Processing (Front Desk)

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a part-time Front Desk Security Officer in Salt Lake City, Utah, to support an aerospace and defense client. The officer acts as a professional, welcoming presence for employees and visitors, managing access, verifying credentials and monitoring entry activity. The position is listed as part time, with day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors and guests while applying site-specific security procedures and access-control policies.
• Staff the front desk by greeting and screening visitors, verifying identification and authorization, issuing visitor credentials and keeping accurate visitor logs.
• Monitor incoming calls, emails, alarms and other communications, direct inquiries to the right people and escalate concerns as required.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, access-control issues and critical situations, following emergency response protocols.
• Report unusual conditions, policy violations and security concerns to Allied Universal leadership and site management.

Required profile

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• An active DoD Secret clearance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen as permitted by law; licensing may be required depending on state and local rules.
