Part-Time Registered Nurse ICU

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a part-time day-shift Registered Nurse for its ICU in Lake Placid, Florida. The nurse conducts comprehensive patient assessments, develops care plans, administers treatments and provides education to patients and families, working alongside other healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on findings and diagnosis
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and monitor patient responses, adjusting care as needed
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, medications and self-care
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and document care in the electronic medical record
• Take part in quality improvement initiatives and supervise and mentor nursing staff
• Maintain a safe, clean environment following infection control policies and respond promptly to emergencies

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license and Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience in ED and Critical Care
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
• Previous experience with Cerner EMR, EKG interpretation class and EPIC is preferred

Required skills

• Critical care nursing and clinical skills, including EKG knowledge
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows-based programs and accurate EMR documentation
• Organization, prioritization, problem-solving and critical thinking
