Part-Time Preschool Teacher

About the role

Aspire Early Learning Academy is hiring part-time Preschool Teachers for its Moncks Corner Academy. The position offers 4-6 hours per day, either 7:00 am - 1:00 pm or 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm, and suits college students, retirees or parents. Teachers work with children under five, supporting their social, emotional, cognitive and physical development and preparing them for kindergarten.

Key responsibilities

• Create engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences using storytelling, educational play, music and media
• Observe each child and support social skills, independence, confidence and self-esteem
• Encourage positive interaction between children
• Support artistic, creative, academic and practical development through activities such as shapes, numbers, colours and crafts
• Follow the schedule, supervise children and follow the provided curriculum and lesson plans
• Maintain a clean, organised classroom meeting health, safety and sanitation standards
• Collaborate with co-workers and administration and follow DSS, DHEC and academy policies

Required profile

• Understanding of child development and early childhood education practices
• Familiarity with health, safety, sanitation and classroom supervision guidelines
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and instructional skills
• Ability to guide behaviour positively and mediate conflicts
• Patient, friendly, dependable, professional and able to work as part of a small team
• Successful completion of Central Registry, SLED and FBI background checks
