Full-Time Infant/Toddler Teacher

About the role

Aspire Early Learning Academy is hiring a full-time Infant/Toddler Teacher for its Moncks Corner location, on an 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule. The school seeks a caring, dependable and enthusiastic teacher who loves working with children under five and understands best practices in early childhood education. Teachers support each child's social, emotional, cognitive and physical development while preparing them for kindergarten.

Key responsibilities

• Create engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences using storytelling, educational play, music and media, following the company's curriculum and lesson plans.
• Observe and document children's development while supporting social skills, independence and self-esteem.
• Encourage positive interactions, cooperation and respectful behaviour among children.
• Support early academic, artistic and practical skills such as shapes, numbers, colours and crafts.
• Maintain an organised classroom schedule and provide active supervision to keep children safe.
• Keep the classroom clean and organised, meeting health, safety and sanitation standards.
• Collaborate with co-workers and administration, follow DSS, DHEC and academy policies, and work as part of a small teaching team.
• Create a warm, nurturing and positive classroom environment.

Required profile

• Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
• Familiarity with health, safety, sanitation and classroom supervision guidelines.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and instructional skills, and the ability to guide children's behaviour and resolve conflicts.
• Patient, friendly, dependable, professional and creative, able to work collaboratively.
• Successful completion of required Central Registry, SLED and FBI background checks.
• Completion of ECD 101 or willingness to complete it within six months of employment; the company pays for the course.
