Full-Time Preschool Teacher

About the role

Aspire Early Learning Academy is hiring a full-time Preschool Teacher for its West Columbia location. The school looks for a caring, dependable and enthusiastic teacher who loves working with children under five, understands early childhood education best practices and helps children develop socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically so they are ready for kindergarten. Primary schedules are 8:00 am-5:00 pm or 9:00 am-6:00 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Create engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences using storytelling, educational play, music and media, following the company's curriculum and lesson plans.
• Observe and document children's development while supporting social skills, independence and self-esteem.
• Encourage positive interactions, cooperation and respectful behaviour among children.
• Support early academic, artistic and practical skills such as shapes, numbers, colours and crafts.
• Maintain an organised classroom schedule and supervise children actively to keep them safe.
• Keep the classroom clean and organised, meeting health, safety and sanitation standards.
• Work as part of a small teaching team and follow DSS, DHEC and academy policies.

Required profile

• Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
• Familiarity with health, safety, sanitation and classroom supervision guidelines.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and instructional skills.
• Ability to guide children's behaviour positively and resolve conflicts appropriately.
• Patient, friendly, dependable, professional and creative with young children.
• Successful completion of the required Central Registry, SLED and FBI background checks.
