Part-Time PBX Operator

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a part-time PBX operator in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. The operator answers and transfers incoming calls, responds to codes and alerts, documents events and assists in training new staff on call processing. The schedule is 24 hours.

Key responsibilities

• Answer and transfer incoming calls promptly and accurately.
• Respond quickly and accurately to codes, alerts, drills and testing, and document event details in a timely way.
• Execute communications efficiently and stay current on hospital, code and departmental procedures.
• Assist in training new staff on call processing procedures.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of PBX switchboard/operator, call center, clerical/administrative, hospitality or customer service experience in a high call-volume environment.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Compliance with the employee code of conduct and HIPAA, and adherence to hospital confidentiality policy.

Required skills

• Clear, distinct speech and effective communication with callers, staff, patients and families.
• Attention to incoming codes and alerts, and ability to multi-task.
• English proficiency preferred.
