Part-Time Patient Customer Service Representative

About the role

R1, a provider of technology-driven solutions for hospitals, health systems and medical groups, is hiring a part-time, PRN-as-needed Customer Service Representative for its Patient Registration team in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. You will be the first point of contact for patients checking into the hospital, helping them through registration and answering questions with confidence and compassion. No healthcare background is required; full training is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Register patients efficiently using multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather information quickly and accurately
• Assist patients who may be ill, anxious or confused
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details (with training)
• Adapt to interruptions from clinical teams during urgent care situations
• Build rapport and ease patient concerns in real time

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong customer service experience
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Preferred: medical or healthcare experience (not required)
