Part-Time Patient Customer Service Representative

About the role

R1 RCM is hiring a part-time, PRN Customer Service Representative for Patient Registration at Ascension St. John Jan Phillips Medical Center. You will be the first point of contact for patients checking into the hospital, helping them through registration and answering questions with confidence and compassion. Training is provided, so no healthcare background is needed.

Key responsibilities

• Register patients efficiently using multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather information quickly and accurately
• Assist patients who may be ill, anxious or confused
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details (training provided)
• Adapt to interruptions from clinical teams during urgent care situations
• Build rapport and ease patient concerns in real time

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong customer service experience
• Preferred: medical or healthcare experience (not required)
