Part-Time Patient Customer Service Representative

About the role

R1, a revenue cycle technology company, is hiring a part-time, PRN-as-needed Customer Service Representative for its Patient Registration team at Ascension St. Vincent Stress Center in Indianapolis. You will be the first point of contact for patients checking into the hospital, helping them through registration and answering questions with confidence and compassion. Training is provided, so no healthcare background is required.

Key responsibilities

• Register patients efficiently using multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather information quickly and accurately
• Assist patients who may be ill, anxious or confused
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details (with training)
• Adapt to interruptions from clinical teams during urgent care situations
• Build rapport and ease patient concerns in real time

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong customer service experience
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Preferred: medical or healthcare experience (not required)
