Part-Time As Needed Customer Service Representative

About the role

R1 is a provider of technology-driven solutions for hospitals, health systems and medical groups, combining revenue cycle professionals with an advanced technology platform. It is hiring a part-time, as-needed Customer Service Representative (Patient Registration) in Waco, Texas. The schedule is a minimum of 48 hours per month with 24 hours on call, and no healthcare background is required because training is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for patients, helping them with the check-in process and registering patients efficiently across multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Navigate insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and give cost estimates when applicable
• Work with nurses, physicians and care teams to keep patient flow smooth

Required profile

• Exceptional customer service, communication and interpersonal skills, with strong composure and professionalism
• Ability to multitask, prioritize quickly and shift priorities based on patient needs
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification or front desk is a plus but not required
