Part-Time Patient Access Customer Service Representative

About the role

R1, a provider of technology-driven solutions for hospitals, health systems and medical groups, is hiring a part-time Patient Access Customer Service Representative for Ascension St. John Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville. The shift is PRN, with a minimum of 48 hours a month and 24 on call, with additional shifts available. Training is provided and no healthcare background is required.

Key responsibilities

• Register patients efficiently across multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather information quickly and accurately
• Help patients navigate the registration process and answer questions with confidence and compassion
• Assist patients who may be ill, anxious or confused
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details (with training)
• Adapt to interruptions from clinical teams during urgent care situations
• Build rapport and ease patient concerns in real time

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong customer service experience
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Preferred: medical or healthcare experience (not required)
