Part-Time Night Shift RN – BHU – Chabert

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a part‑time Registered Nurse to work the night shift on the BHU unit at the Chabert location in Houma. The RN will lead patient care using the nursing process, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and uphold the standards of the Nurse Practice Act and ANA Code.

Key responsibilities

• Apply the nursing process to deliver safe, high‑quality patient care.
• Assess patient and family learning needs and provide appropriate education.
• Delegate, direct and assist licensed and ancillary team members while managing resources.
• Utilize data and evidence‑based information to drive optimal outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state and local regulations and accreditation standards.
• Participate in unit and department strategic initiatives and quality improvement activities.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• No prior work experience required.
• Optional certification in a clinical specialty area.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, software applications and web‑based systems.
