Part-Time Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The Part-Time Maintenance Engineer will ensure the Fairfield Inn & Suites facilities are safe, comfortable, and well‑maintained for guests and staff. This position supports the hotel's operations by performing preventive maintenance, handling service requests, and upholding Hampton Inn brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Complete minor repairs in guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces, including painting, carpentry, and basic plumbing.
• Respond promptly to guest service requests, resolve issues with minimal disruption, and keep tools and work areas clean and organized.
• Monitor and maintain pool, fitness, and laundry equipment in compliance with safety and health regulations.
• Assist with fire safety systems, alarms, and emergency procedures, and log completed tasks and parts used.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification is a plus.
• Prior maintenance experience in hotels, commercial buildings, or similar facilities.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Flexible availability for weekends, evenings, or holidays as needed.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
