About the role
The Department of Biology at the University of Miami is creating a pool of qualified part‑time lecturers to teach up to two undergraduate courses per semester. This on‑site position focuses on delivering high‑quality instruction in introductory and advanced biology subjects.
Key responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses such as Introductory Biology (lecture and lab), Physiology, Cell and Molecular Biology, and Genetics.
- Provide a minimum of three hours per week of office hours for each course to support student learning.
- Maintain classroom and laboratory preparation, grading, and assessment responsibilities.
- Collaborate with department faculty on curriculum and course scheduling as needed.
Required profile
- Doctorate in Biology or a closely related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of the specific sub‑field(s) you will teach.
- Preferred: at least one year of college‑level teaching experience.
- Ability to deliver in‑person, face‑to‑face instruction.
