Part-Time Float Pharmacy Technician

About the role

Genoa Healthcare, a pharmacy care services company within Optum and UnitedHealth Group, is looking for a part-time float pharmacy technician to support its mental health pharmacy. The role covers dispensing medical prescriptions and necessary clerical duties under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. The home base is in Portage, Indiana, and the technician must also cover other regional sites within a 30-mile radius.

Key responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to patients and clinic staff
• Fill prescription orders and make them available for verification under the registered pharmacist's supervision
• Order, receive and store incoming pharmacy supplies; process wholesaler medication orders
• Verify medication stock and enter data to maintain inventory records
• Work with the pharmacist to keep the pharmacy compliant with federal and state requirements
• Perform departmental clerical duties and communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing

Required profile

• Active, unrestricted pharmacy technician license in Indiana
• Own vehicle and access to reliable transportation, with a valid US driver's license
• Preferred: National Pharmacy Technician Certification and pharmacy data entry experience
