Part-Time Bell Person

About the role

The Whitney Hotel Boston, a 66-room boutique hotel in Beacon Hill, is hiring a part-time Bell Person. The role greets guests at the hotel entrance and handles luggage transport and storage, with a growth path to Bell Captain, Guest Service Agent, Concierge, AGM or General Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload luggage carts and tag and store luggage
• Escort guests to their rooms, give an overview of the room, hotel services and amenities, and make deliveries to guest rooms
• Assist guests with room changes and stock the pantry when needed
• Maintain lists and brochures of local attractions, transportation guides, churches and sports arenas
• Perform house attendant functions when staff is short, and follow sustainability guidelines under the EarthView program
• Follow safe work habits, wear protective equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards
• Monitor guest satisfaction scores and perform other duties requested by management

Required profile

• High school diploma preferred
• Previous customer experience required or equivalent training
• Ability to stand for long periods, walk, push, lift up to 50 pounds, bend and reach; schedule may include holidays, weekends and alternate shifts
