Hotel Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Boston Harbor Hotel, a Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond waterfront resort in Boston, is hiring a hotel maintenance engineer. The engineer performs preventative and repair maintenance so the hotel meets its quality and sustainability standards, while treating guests warmly and friendily. The role offers a growth path to Engineering Supervisor, Chief Engineer and Area Chief Engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct room inspections and identify repair needs.
• Install or repair sheetrock and other wall coverings; paint designated areas and items.
• Install and replace basic electrical fixtures, light switches, receptacles, light bulbs and fixtures.
• Repair furniture and perform minor plumbing functions.
• Install, replace and program televisions.
• Replace and repair heating and cooling pumps and carry out preventative maintenance on units.
• Trace and repair water lines and troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
• Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records and work to local, state and federal codes.
• Monitor guest satisfaction scores and follow Service Recovery Guidelines.
• Act as a bell attendant during staffing shortages or peak check-in/check-out periods, and follow safe work practices and OSHA standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma; trade school coursework in a related field preferred.
• Previous engineer or maintenance experience or equivalent training required.
