Part-Time Bartender

About the role

The Dayton Convention Center, managed by ASM Global, is looking for a part-time Bartender. The role stocks, prepares and serves alcoholic drinks to guests at bars, concession stands and/or beer trailers for catered and non-catered events. Hours depend on the event schedule, and the position is open immediately.

Key responsibilities

• Report to work at the assigned time in proper uniform
• Read the banquet event order and set up the bar correctly and uniformly
• Keep the station neat and clean while serving guests
• Account for bar stock on bar sheets, including opening and closing inventory and waste/spoilage, and monitor and restock stock in liquor control rooms
• Greet and serve guests, identify patrons' legal drinking age in line with Ohio law, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in the prescribed measures
• Handle cash correctly and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• At least 21 years old
• Valid Ohio ASK (Alcohol Server Knowledge) certificate
• Background check and credit screening passed for cash handling
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow directions and work both in a team and independently
• Must speak and understand English; professional server attire required on event days
• Able to stand and walk for long periods and lift 30 lbs

Required skills

• Knowledge of alcohol service and mixing drinks
• Basic food preparation and safe food handling
• Accurate counting and handling of money
• Understanding of basic PPE requirements
