Paramedic – Emergency Department

About the role

The Emergency Department at South Pointe Hospital is seeking a full‑time Paramedic to provide advanced emergency care under RN supervision. You will work a 9:00 am‑9:00 pm shift delivering life‑saving interventions to patients in urgent need.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain and record vital signs, perform EKGs, CPR, phlebotomy, and suctioning (oral, nasal, ET).
• Initiate cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, saline locks, and administer fluids/drugs.
• Apply orthopaedic appliances, simple splints, size crutches and teach crutch walking.
• Assist with equipment setup, chest tubes, gastric lavage, lumbar puncture, and patient restraint.
• Transport patients and specimens, maintain equipment, and uphold patient confidentiality.

Required profile

• Completion of an accredited EMS‑Paramedic training program and current Ohio EMTP licensure.
• BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) and ACLS certification (AHA or Red Cross).
• PALS certification (AHA or Red Cross) upon hire or within one year.
• Physical ability to lift patients and perform repetitive motions.
