Packaging Lead 1st Shift

About the role

Kraft Heinz is hiring a Packaging Lead for the 1st shift in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The role supervises the packaging team, coordinates with the CI Lead and Maintenance, and ensures production runs safely, efficiently and to quality targets.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with the CI Lead and Maintenance on key areas of focus and supervise all subordinates so that every area works together.
• Manage the team's execution of Clean Inspect Lubricate (CIL), Centerline (CL), 5S, basic problem solving and the Oscar system, and coach and develop problem-solving skills.
• Help teams develop and implement CIL, CL and changeover programs, and escalate production issues when performance gaps arise.
• Improve technical skills through the Step Up Card system and track safety training issues.
• Assign work tasks, verify IQS documentation is accurate and timely, and check that safe work practices such as PPE and JSA are followed.
• Prepare DDS meeting data, lead and attend DDS meetings, and hold the team accountable for daily scrap goals and run-to-target goals.
• Monitor run rates, waste streams and KPIs, and support root cause analysis of chronic losses.
• Ensure materials are present, employees are on task and the break schedule is enforced; educate employees on machinery and job functions.
• Receive complaints and forward them to the supervisor, and support the supervisor with corrective action documentation.
• Lead start and end of shift performance, coordinate employee cross-training with the Production Clerk, and take part in the QRMP yearly audit and procedure development.
