Process Control Engineer

About the role

Rinvio is seeking a Process Control Engineer to support process control systems, PLC/HMI platforms, instrumentation, and plant automation projects in the Cedar Rapids, IA area. The role involves hands‑on troubleshooting, system upgrades, and collaboration with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support and maintain PLC/HMI platforms, instrumentation, controls networks, and automation projects.
• Troubleshoot complex controls issues to improve reliability and production uptime.
• Develop or modify PLC/HMI logic, control narratives, documentation, and system standards.
• Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, operations, vendors, and project teams for controls improvements.
• Assist with commissioning, upgrades, integrations, preventive maintenance, and root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Experience in process controls, controls engineering, automation engineering, or senior PLC/controls roles.
• Familiarity with PLC/HMI systems such as Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or comparable platforms.
• Strong understanding of instrumentation, controls networks, VFDs, I/O, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex controls problems and communicate clearly with plant stakeholders.
• Reliable transportation to the Cedar Rapids area and ability to meet site onboarding requirements.
