Outpatient Rehab Technician – Neuroscience Institute

About the role

Exceptional care starts with exceptional people. This position works under direct on‑premises supervision of a licensed physical or occupational therapist, providing therapeutic modality treatments, preparing therapy areas, and transporting patients safely. It is an on‑site role focused on supporting patient care in the outpatient setting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains work area for treatment, including ordering supplies, linen, and pharmaceuticals.
• Orients and mentors new staff in the assigned area.
• Monitors and assists in patient care as instructed by the therapist, following competency guidelines.
• Assists with general office and front‑desk procedures.
• Transports patients to and from departments using wheelchairs or stretchers in a safe, courteous manner.
• Adapts behavior to respect patient privacy and communication preferences.
• Performs isolation techniques per Infection Control policy and maintains equipment cleanliness and safety.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (required); some college coursework in healthcare sciences preferred.
• No prior work experience required; 5 years relevant experience or enrollment in a clinical program is preferred.
• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel between facilities as needed.
