Outpatient Clinical Care Assistant / Medical Assistant

About the role

The Outpatient Clinical Care Assistant/Medical Assistant provides direct patient care in an outpatient clinic under RN or LIP supervision, supporting a busy ambulatory surgery and primary care facility.

Key responsibilities

• Complete rooming process: vitals, intake, documentation, and report abnormal findings.
• Collect specimens, perform point‑of‑care testing, and prepare samples for the lab.
• Assist with exams and procedures such as EKG, Holter monitoring, pulse oximetry, and vision/hearing screening.
• Administer treatments, change dressings, apply/remove casts, braces, and splints.
• Maintain clinic readiness: stock supplies, clean work areas, monitor expiration dates, and ensure equipment safety.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least one year recent healthcare experience (or graduate of an approved medical assisting program).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the new‑hire period.
• Ability to perform full‑body motions, lift patients, and stand for extended periods.
