About the role

Join Ochsner’s trauma team as an OR Trauma Registered Nurse working night shifts on Jefferson Highway. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality surgical care without on‑call responsibilities, supporting patients through the nursing process and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Apply the Nursing Process to provide comprehensive patient care in the operating room.
• Assess patient and family learning needs and deliver tailored education.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources, acting as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
• Utilize data and evidence‑based practice to drive improvements and achieve optimal outcomes.
• Promote patient satisfaction and staff morale through compassionate care.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current RN license in Louisiana and active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience handling confidential information and working in fast‑paced environments.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.
• Strong organizational, time‑management and interpersonal skills.
