OR Service Assistant II – Day Shift

About the role

Join the Cleveland Clinic Health System team at Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach, Florida. As an OR Service Assistant II you will support surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, transporting patients, and assisting surgeons with sterile techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Transport patients, perform room turnover, and set up the operating room for surgeries.
• Maintain and operate special equipment and surgical sets, ensuring sterility.
• Coordinate equipment and supplies for specific surgical cases and track loaned items.
• Scrub in to assist surgeons by holding retractors, limbs, suctioning, and sponging wounds.
• Clean used instruments after surgery and document equipment repairs.
• Assist in transferring patients from the surgical table to a stretcher or bed.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Understanding of surgical workflows, terminology, and physician preferences.
• Physical ability to lift patients and equipment, stand for long periods, and meet vision/hearing standards.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Sterile Processing or Operating Room Technician (ORT) certification (preferred).
