Ophthalmology Practice Manager

About the role

The Ophthalmology Practice Manager leads the clinical team across one or more ophthalmic office locations within Lehigh Valley Health Network. This role ensures high‑quality patient care, efficient operations, and continuous improvement of clinical protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor patient flow, balance resources, and address patient complaints with a structured service recovery system.
• Supervise clinical ophthalmology support staff, directing orientation, training, competency assessments, and care delivery.
• Collaborate with the Practice Triad to assess clinical needs, develop policies, and manage the clinical supply chain for medications and equipment.
• Lead quality improvement activities, including the creation and implementation of protocols and standard work.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED with at least 3 years of experience in an ophthalmic office setting.
• Minimum 3 years in a management role overseeing clinical staff.
• Knowledge of ophthalmic procedures and ability to work in a fast‑paced, patient‑focused environment.

Required skills

• COA – Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (Pennsylvania) – required upon hire.
• COT – Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technician (Pennsylvania) – required upon hire.
