Ophthalmic Diagnostic Technician (Full‑time)

About the role

The University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a full‑time Ophthalmic Diagnostic Technician to join the UHealth SoLe Miami team in Aventura. The role involves performing a variety of ocular imaging procedures and documenting results in the electronic medical record.

Key responsibilities

• Perform supervised ocular diagnostic testing using specialty imaging instruments and upload images to the EMR.
• Conduct procedures such as color fundus photography, fluorescein and indocyanine green angiography, OCT, automated perimetry, slit‑lamp and external photography, and ocular motility photography.
• Maintain equipment calibration, ensure proper instrument function, and organize clinical rooms for daily activities.
• Adhere to patient safety, hand hygiene, infection control standards, and confidentiality regulations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience; certification or license preferred.
• Minimum one year of experience performing ophthalmic imaging procedures.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
