Operator – Terminal Operations

About the role

Join Vopak as an Operator and play a key part in ensuring safe and efficient loading and unloading of products at our terminal. You will work in a safety‑focused environment that values diversity, equality, and employee satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Open and close valves manually or via computer‑controlled systems.
• Verify tank line‑ups, perform tank gauging and temperature checks, and complete related paperwork.
• Load and unload railroad tank cars, trucks, ships, and barges according to operational orders.
• Follow all safety procedures, participate in training, and champion SH&E principles.
• Read and interpret U.S. Coast Guard manuals, OSHA regulations, and other regulatory documents.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Fluent English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow written job instructions and safety procedures.
• Willingness to work varying or rotating shifts.

Required skills

• Basic computer literacy, including use of database systems and terminal applications.
• Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions).
• Ability to read and interpret regulatory manuals and safety documentation.
