Operations Supervisor – Logistics & Transportation

About the role

The Operations Supervisor leads day‑to‑day activities across multimodal transportation, supply chain and contract logistics operations. You will ensure safe, efficient and accurate execution of core service processes while driving productivity and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily logistics workflows such as receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, dispatching and yard management.
• Coordinate work assignments to meet service, quality, safety and productivity targets.
• Monitor inventory, freight and equipment handling to ensure timely and accurate processing.
• Enforce compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory and operational policies (OSHA, DOT, etc.).
• Lead problem‑solving, issue escalation and cross‑functional collaboration with transportation, planning, customer service and engineering teams.
• Support audits, quality and safety compliance activities.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen and other methodologies.
• Provide coaching, performance management and training for frontline associates.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• Proven experience supervising logistics or transportation operations.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to make real‑time decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
