Operations & Maintenance Technician

About the role

Join Anaergia’s plant operations team in Bloomington as an Operations & Maintenance Technician. You will be responsible for the reliable operation and upkeep of Combined Heat & Power (CHP) systems, ensuring safe, efficient, and continuous production of clean energy.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily site walks, visual equipment inspections, and follow the preventive maintenance (PM) schedule.
• Execute routine greasing, oil top‑ups, and complete PM or job orders in the CMMS.
• Identify and requisition spare parts, consumables, and tools needed for maintenance tasks.
• Carry out basic electrical repairs, sensor troubleshooting, and dismantling of equipment such as blowers and pumps.
• Operate forklifts, hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools safely, and maintain calibration records for lifting devices.
• Support fabrication of temporary lines, pipe patchwork, welding, grinding, and cutting as required.
• Inspect and test life‑safety systems, including eye‑wash stations, and keep the work area clean and hazard‑free.
• Serve as a backup operator and provide flexibility for overtime or weekend work.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Some training toward a licensed trade (e.g., electrical, mechanical).
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory record; ability to obtain mobile crane, personnel lift, and forklift certifications.

Required skills

• Reading blueprints, technical manuals, and engineering specifications.
• Basic electrical repairs and sensor troubleshooting.
• Preventive maintenance planning and execution.
• Operation of forklifts, hoists, cranes, and use of hand/power tools.
• Use of measuring instruments such as calipers and rules.
• Diagnostic testing of pumps, compressors, conveyors, and related equipment.
• CMMS data entry and record‑keeping.
