Customer Support Technician (Level I‑III)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking Customer Support Technicians (Level I‑III) to perform Tier I procedures, preventative maintenance and wet‑clean operations on semiconductor equipment in Bloomington, MN. The role supports customers in clean‑room environments and represents the company with professional service.

Key responsibilities

• Perform standard Tier I procedures including wafer measurement.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and independent wet‑clean tasks.
• Assist senior engineers with corrective maintenance as needed.
• Disassemble, clean and rebuild kits as part of kit management quality.
• Apply diagnostic techniques and use test equipment with guidance.
• Diagnose and resolve basic technical problems.
• Follow best‑known methods and use knowledge‑management systems.
• Adhere to IP guidelines and safety procedures.
• Provide professional customer service and maintain a tidy work area.

Required profile

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as walking, standing, bending, lifting up to 35 lb, and working in clean‑room attire.
• Developed analytical skills and application of scientific methods.
• Understanding of team integration within broader operations.
• No supervisory responsibilities.
• Capable of recognizing and solving typical problems using established procedures.
• Demonstrates quality impact on own work and effective communication with customers.
