Operations Coordinator – Structural Steel

About the role

Design Build Structures is seeking an organized Operations Coordinator to manage workflow, project coordination, and schedules for structural steel projects from contract award through delivery. This newly created, on‑site position offers the chance to shape processes and grow within a locally owned, expanding company.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for general contractors, customers, engineers, architects, and vendors on every awarded project.
• Plan and schedule shop work with the shop manager and set priorities with the detailing team.
• Read and review blueprints, construction drawings, shop drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate material requirements with purchasing and manage workflow and schedules for incoming and current projects.
• Identify risks early and proactively resolve issues affecting schedule, quality, or budget.

Required profile

• Experience coordinating multiple projects, schedules, and deadlines in construction, steel fabrication, or manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, shop drawings, and project specifications.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate professionally with contractors and internal teams.
• Composure under pressure and a collaborative, team‑first approach.
• Valid driver’s license.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Experience with project/ERP software such as Tekla EPM, FabSuite, or Microsoft Project.
