Maintenance Technician

About the role

St. Edmond's Home for Children is looking for a full-time Maintenance Technician in Bryn Mawr, PA. The main purpose of the job is to maintain and repair the physical structures of buildings and grounds, keeping a safe and secure environment for staff and residents. Weekend availability is required.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs to plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems; experience with standby generators is a plus
• Maintain and repair wood parts of buildings, and repair or replace brick, stone and concrete
• General grounds maintenance, including leaf and snow removal
• Assemble furniture and install fixtures, patch drywall, paint interior and exterior walls and trim
• Set up rooms for various functions and carry out general facility duties such as moving furniture and storing supplies
• Rotating weekend and holiday on-call schedule (every 3-4 weeks)
• Additional duties as directed by the Maintenance Coordinator

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• At least 2 years of maintenance experience
• Valid U.S. driver's license with 3 years of driving experience and ability to obtain Archdiocesan driving approval
• Ability to operate heavy machinery such as backhoe, snow blower, street sweeper and riding mower
• Good communication skills and willingness to work in a team; outdoor work in various weather conditions
