About the role
The Frost School of Music at the University of Miami invites applications for an open‑rank faculty position in Musicology. The successful candidate will join a vibrant department, teaching and researching across a broad spectrum of music studies.
Key responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, including Music Bibliography, Music of the Romantic Period, Music in the United States, and Music of Latin America, as well as specialized topics aligned with the scholar’s expertise.
- Develop and sustain an active program of scholarly research that enhances professional visibility.
- Mentor and advise musicology students at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Contribute service to the department, Frost School, university, and professional organizations.
Required profile
- Earned PhD in musicology, music history, or ethnomusicology by August 15 2026.
- Demonstrated record of scholarly publication and research.
- Evidence of effective teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Potential to develop a national or international scholarly profile appropriate to the rank.
