Onboarding Senior Accountant (Remote)

About the role

Chazin, a woman‑owned firm specializing in virtual accounting for nonprofits, is seeking an Onboarding Senior Accountant to guide new nonprofit clients through the onboarding process. This fully remote, full‑time role supports clients across the United States (excluding California).

Key responsibilities

• Review financial records of new nonprofit clients and ensure proper transaction recording.
• Provide full‑cycle accounting support, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger activity.
• Prepare month‑end close workbooks, balance‑sheet reconciliations, and monthly financial statements.
• Research irregularities, correct financial errors with journal entries, and apply nonprofit revenue‑recognition guidance.
• Assist with grant management, audit schedules, Form 990 preparation, and other regulatory filings.
• Support financial analysis, cash‑flow forecasting, and budget preparation under the guidance of a Controller.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience; CPA preferred.
• Minimum five years of general accounting experience, preferably in public or outsourced accounting.
• Experience with nonprofit accounting, audit preparation, and remote work professionalism.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
• Experience using QuickBooks Online.
• Familiarity with BILL.
• Ability to become proficient with Sage Intacct and other third‑party applications.
