Onboarding & Admissions Specialist

About the role

The College of Innovation and Design (CID/CBE) seeks an Onboarding & Admissions Specialist to provide student‑centered support from initial inquiry through first‑term enrollment. This full‑time remote position assists prospective students, evaluates applications, and guides admitted students through orientation and enrollment.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate prospective student qualifications, academic history, and goals to determine appropriate enrollment pathways.
• Interpret and apply university, state, and CID/CBE admissions policies when reviewing records and assessing eligibility.
• Review and analyze transcripts, transfer coursework, certifications, TSI information, and other credentials.
• Provide individualized guidance to students throughout the onboarding process and coordinate with advisors and university offices.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive student information and ensure compliance with regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least three years of experience in student services, admissions, advising, or related higher‑education functions.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and collaboratively, and communicate effectively with diverse populations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with word processing applications.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet software.
• Experience using database and student information systems (e.g., CRM/EAB platforms).
