Research Archives Internship (2027)

About the role

The Research Information Services group is seeking a graduate‑level library or information science student to join the Dallas Fed as a Research Archives Intern. You will work directly with the Bank Archivist to process, describe, and preserve both physical and digital collections.

Key responsibilities

• Appraise, arrange, and describe physical archival collections.
• Execute digital archival processes for born‑digital and digitized materials using Preservica.
• Assist in implementing preservation strategies for long‑term retention of records.
• Create and maintain finding aids and manage artifact and digital asset inventories.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a Master’s program in library or information science at an ALA‑accredited institution, graduating summer 2027 or later.
• Completed at least 15‑20 credits of foundational library science coursework.
• Strong attention to detail, initiative, and effective communication skills.
• Basic understanding of metadata standards.

Required skills

• Knowledge of library and archives technology.
• Experience or familiarity with Preservica digital preservation platform.
• Basic understanding of metadata creation and management.
