CBE Onboarding & Admissions Specialist

About the role

The College of Innovation and Design (CID/CBE) at East Texas A&M University seeks an Onboarding & Admissions Specialist to guide prospective students from inquiry through first‑term enrollment. This full‑time remote position provides personalized support, evaluates applications, and ensures smooth enrollment while complying with university policies.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate prospective student qualifications, academic history, and goals to determine appropriate enrollment pathways.
• Interpret and apply university, state, and CID/CBE admissions policies when reviewing records and assessing eligibility.
• Analyze transcripts, transfer credits, certifications, TSI information, and military credit to recommend next steps.
• Communicate admission decisions and enrollment options via phone, email, virtual meetings, and CRM/EAB systems.
• Collaborate with advisors, faculty, and university offices to resolve complex enrollment issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least three years of experience in student services, admissions, advising, or related higher‑education functions.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and problem‑solving abilities, and ability to handle confidential information.

Required skills

• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
• Experience using CRM or student information systems (e.g., EAB).
• Accurate, repetitive data‑entry capabilities.
