On-Call Registered Nurse

About the role

The Our House Residential Care Facility in SE Portland, part of CAP Northwest, is hiring a skilled, team-oriented On-Call Registered Nurse. The nurse assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the care of residents and provides direct care to them as well as environmental care of the facility. It is an on-call position with pay starting at $47.56 per hour, with differentials of $1.00 for evenings and weekends, $6.00 for nights and $6.50 for weekend nights.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate resident care according to the service plan, physician orders and clinical judgement.
• Maintain accurate records of care provided or omitted in each resident's electronic record.
• Provide direct resident care while promoting their dignity, independence and choice.
• Perform nursing procedures in line with licensure and skill level, using safety and infection control principles.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living.

Required profile

• Unencumbered nursing license in the state of Oregon.
• Basic Life Support card.
• Ability to pass a DHS background check (Potential Disqualifying Conviction List).
• One year of relevant nursing experience preferred.
• Experience working with people living with HIV/AIDS, people with disabilities, chronic illness or other barriers to independent living.
• Ability to build professional relationships across a multicultural range of organisations, including community partners and funders.
• Commitment to advancing equity and inclusion.
