On Call Licensed Practical Nurse

About the role

CAP Northwest's Our House Residential Care Facility in southeast Portland is hiring a skilled, team-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for an on-call position. The 14-room facility works with people living with HIV who find it difficult to manage independent living, and the LPN provides direct care to residents and environmental care of the facility. Shifts vary.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating resident care.
• Perform nursing procedures according to licensure and skill level, following safety and infection control principles.
• Explain treatments and conditions to patients of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
• Provide assistance with activities of daily living.
• Administer and document medications and treatments using an electronic medication administration record.
• Work with the resident's primary care provider, clinical staff and support system.

Required profile

• Unencumbered nursing license in the state of Oregon.
• Basic Life Support card.
• Ability to pass a DHS background check.
• One year of relevant nursing experience preferred.
• Motivation to work with people living with HIV, substance use disorder or behavioral health needs.
• Commitment to advancing equity and inclusion, including participation in training workshops and team meetings.

What we offer

• Starting pay of $35.37 per hour, with differentials of $1.00 for evenings and weekends, $6.00 for nights and $6.50 for weekend nights.
