Of Counsel Attorney – Construction Litigation (NJ/NY)

About the role

A full‑service law firm is seeking an experienced Of Counsel attorney to join its Construction and Energy practice serving clients in New Jersey and New York. The role combines high‑stakes litigation with strategic advisory work on construction disputes and contract matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all phases of construction litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, and trial preparation.
• Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, including AIA forms and custom project agreements.
• Provide direct client counsel on contract administration, risk management, and dispute avoidance.
• Represent developers, general contractors, subcontractors, and design professionals in breach‑of‑contract, defect, delay, payment, and fraud disputes.
• Collaborate with practice members to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of experience in construction law, litigation, and contract matters.
• Admission to practice law in both New Jersey and New York.
• Proven ability to manage complex litigation from inception to resolution.
• Strong writing, research, analytical, and communication skills.
• Comfortable handling direct client interaction and working in a collaborative environment.
