Occupational Therapist, StaffFlex Contract (Day Shift)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a StaffFlex contract of 13 weeks, working full-time day shifts (Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm) at its home health and EMS building in Calhoun, Georgia. The position is open to full-time or part-time schedules of 24, 36 or 40 hours per week, with no home visits and no on-call duty.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate patients referred to occupational therapy and complete initial evaluations within department time standards, applying diagnostic and prognostic testing for musculoskeletal, neurological and neuromuscular conditions.
• Develop treatment plans with specific goals and activities, reassessing and modifying them as needed, and make disposition recommendations.
• Use sensorimotor, neuromuscular re-educational, recreational and social activities to help patients achieve maximum independence in daily living, including ADL training, home safety assessment, compensatory techniques, splinting and hand therapy.
• Teach patients the skills they need to participate in their own care, collaborate with the care team and discharge planning, and document evaluations, progress notes and treatment records.
• Float to other areas and sites, work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays, and take part in quality improvement, training and department development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy (master's and doctorate preferred).
• 2+ years of clinical experience.
• Occupational Therapist license and Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
