Occupational Therapist, PT Days (StaffFlex Contract)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring an Occupational Therapist for day shifts in its home health and EMS building in Calhoun, Georgia. This is a StaffFlex contract for 13 weeks, open to part-time or full-time (24, 36 or 40 hours per week) candidates. The schedule requested is Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with Saturday and Sunday shifts available for those who want to pick them up. There are no home visits and no on-call duty.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate patients referred to occupational therapy and complete the initial evaluation within department time standards, applying diagnostic and prognostic testing for musculoskeletal, neurological and neuromuscular conditions.
• Develop treatment plans with specific goals and activities, reassessing and modifying them as needed, and make disposition recommendations.
• Use sensorimotor, neuromuscular re-educational, recreational and social activities to help patients achieve maximum independence in daily living.
• Provide ADL training, home safety assessment and education, compensatory techniques and equipment, and functional mobility, positioning and splinting training.
• Collaborate with patients, families and the health care team, including discharge planning, and teach patients the skills they need.
• Document evaluations, progress notes and treatment records accurately, and help prepare patient schedules, billing and reports.
• Float to other areas and sites, attend department meetings and train OT and OTA students.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy (master's and doctorate preferred).
• 2+ years of clinical experience.
• Occupational Therapist license and Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
• Willingness to float and work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays.
