Occupational Therapist – PRN

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System seeks a flexible, PRN Occupational Therapist to join the Ancillary Occupational Therapy team at Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach, Florida. This position provides a variety of shift options to accommodate personal schedules while delivering high‑quality OT services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide OT services including passive/active range of motion, joint mobilization, massage, myofascial release, desensitization techniques, dressing changes, and job simulation for patients with upper‑extremity injuries or disabilities.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of musculoskeletal function, sensorimotor skills, and functional/work abilities, then develop, implement, monitor, and modify individualized treatment plans.
• Apply thermal and electrical modalities such as hot/cold packs, fluid therapy, paraffin/contrast baths, ultrasound, phonophoresis, TENS, NMES, HVPGS, iontophoresis, and biofeedback.
• Fabricate custom splints, select and order adaptive devices, and train patients in their proper use.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, rehab nurses, case managers, employers, and families; provide written status reports and coordinate care for workers’ compensation cases.

Required profile

• Graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapy program (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree).
• Current Occupational Therapy license in the State of Florida.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Internship experience; acute‑care experience preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in therapeutic techniques: P/ROM, joint mobilization, massage, myofascial release, desensitization.
• Experience with thermal and electrical modalities (hot/cold packs, fluid therapy, paraffin/contrast baths, ultrasound, phonophoresis, TENS, NMES, HVPGS, iontophoresis, biofeedback).
• Ability to fabricate custom splints and select adaptive equipment.
• Strong documentation and communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration.
